Many of us travel with light luggage. But what is light? I decide to see what I could bring with me onboard on the cheapest tickets on Star Alliance, Ryan Air and Wizz Air. After a quick check., its obvious that what airline we fly makes a different. Here we can see that SAS is the worst when it comes to economy light tickets and the Lufthansa Group and Turkish are in the top. Ryan and Wizz Air do just like SAS only accept a small personal belonging in their cheapest ticket. But do aloud 2 kg more. How this is in reality is another question.
Airline | Hand luggage Size | Weight in kilo |
Ryan Air | 40-25-20 | 10 |
Wizz Air | 40-30-20 | 10 |
SAS light | 40-30-15 | 8 |
Lufthansa light | 50-40-23 + 40-30-10 | 8 |
Swiss light | 50-40-23 + 40-30-10 | 8 |
Austrian Light | 50-40-23 + 40-30-10 | 8 |
Brussel Light | 50-40-23 + 40-30-10 | 8 |
Turkish | 55-40-23 + 40-30-15 | 8+4 |
If you are great to pack compact maybe its better to fly Ryan or Wizz Air if you follow the numbers. On the other hand I have never experienced that Star Alliance airlines weight the hand luggage. Meaning you can probably go with a heavier hand luggage on the full service airlines. Based on this, I would go for an airline in the Lufthansa Group or Turkish followed by SAS if you travel with light luggage. Yes they are maybe more expensive. But in reality they will not be as picky on the weight of your hand luggage as Ryan and Wizz Air will be. And as I been written about before, if you need a more extensive luggage business class can be a good choice over an economy ticket. Even if this ticket include check in luggage.
Thanks for your write-up on this weblog. From my personal experience, there are times when softening up a photograph could possibly provide the professional photographer with a dose of an imaginative flare. Often however, the soft blur isn’t what precisely you had in mind and can quite often spoil a normally good image, especially if you anticipate enlarging that.
Thanks for your feedback.
