Do you have the strongest passport in the world? As an EU-citizen you can travel around the EU with a national ID-card. However passport is still the most used travel document in the world. And as sone you need to leave the European Union you will need one. But is European passport something to have compared to others?
Its easy to think that a strong passport is just a question of visa or not visa for the yearly vacation. But indeed it does show a lot more. According to the Henly Passport index there is a strong connection with economic strength and the opportunity to travel visa free. For an example Japan have the strongest passport during 2023. It lets it keeper visa free entry to 193 countries that covers 98 percent of the world economy and 85 percent of the world. With other words, its great formobility and economic growth. While an IRAQ passport just gives visa free entry to 29 countries. So in practice the opportunity to financial mobility and growth is closed for its keeper. My conclusion is that if you have a strong passport you probably also comes from a country with financial strength.
So are your passport strong? Well if you liven in Japan, Singapore and South Korea you are at the top and if you live in an EU-country you have a lots of open doors as well. See the top 10 below.
