Lufthansa First Class terminal most be one of the best ways to start a journey. Here we speak fine dinning and a Porsche to the plane
After my stay at IBIS Frankfurt Centrum my hope for German hospitality was low. But was I wrong! A First Class flight never can be even close to cheap. But I do keep my costs down as much as possible. So instead of taking a taxi and arrive in style, I took the train and walked the five minutes from the normal terminal. From the outside the terminal looks grey and boring. But inside Lufthansa First Class Terminal you will find a piece of heaven.
Check in, was there one?
The check in experience at the Lufthansa First Class Terminal is so smooth you don’t notice it. When you arrive you take theelevator up to the second floor to get in to the terminals landside. There a host will welcome you and ask for you name and destination. When she found you she tell her colleague to escort you in to the lounge. I’m sure it’s ten meters so how should you find the way your self? Before the security control you leave your passport to her and then walk thru the metal detector. On the other side you will find the terminal it self. If you haven’t been there before you are asked if you like a guided tour around the facility. And thats the check in! The host will find you later in the terminal and give you your boarding card and the famous bathing duck.
Time for some fine dinning, one of the pleasures at Lufthansa First Class Terminal
I turned this down and went direct to the dinning area. Knowing that I would get a complete dinner on the flight I just asked for some soup. Even if the menu is extensive and you can easy compose a full three or four course dinner. This is maybe more valuable for the HON-members in Miles and More who also have access to the terminal.
A good tips is that if you start yout flight from Frankfurt or have a long lay over there. Get to the First Class Terminal as early as possible. Make your self a great breakfast for the lunch flight. Or even better a 3 course lunch before your night flight. It’s never wrong to make sure you get as much value out of your ticket as possible.
Bar and resting area
The Lufthansa First Class Terminal have a well filled bar and the bartenders are welcoming. If you ask you can get both wine and Whiskey testing. The also have a great non alcoholic assortment and will give you a tasty drink if you ask for it. One of the cool things here is that al staff is proactive and knows where you are al the time, seeks you up and ask if you don’t wan’t something. Compared to al business and Gold lounges I been in, where you serve your self.
The Terminal is logical divided into different parts based on your needs. For example there is beside the dinning area, workstations, restroom, lounge chair area, working booth for privare calls and so on. You are free to move around and as I did, test the different areas and see what fits you best.
Take a bath at Lufthansa First Class Terminal
My favorite space was the bathroom. Here you most be a little specific. There are several bathrooms at Lufthansa First Class Terminal. But only one of them have a bath tube. Last time I didn’t know that and ended up with shoer only. But I learn, and this time I asked specific for the one with a bath tube. And dam it was so relaxing. I can’t find a word that describe the feeling of a hot bath a cold autumn travel day. I made my self a really warm bath and sunk down in it. For me this was the high lite of the lounge. The only thing I missed connected to this was a good massage and a sauna. But for being in an airport this was really great.
On top of that the bathroom is filled with Balmain skin products. There is also a shower so you can get away with the bath salt and get out in the lounge as fresh as you was in the morning.
True, you could take a bath at home. But it’s not the same thing. To get it on a transfer or just before you board a plane is so muche better. Trust me.
Time to board – or as I thought, change paradise?
So then it happened, it was time to board my flight to Sao Paulo. But even if the Lufthansa First Class Terminal is a wonderful lounge so should it be as fun to fly Lufthansa First Class. But in difference from al other planes I boarded this was hustle free. The lounge host picks me up and I take the elevator down to ground floor. There I get my passport back and walks straight out to the Porsche that waits to take me to the plane.
It can’t become more stress free, smooth or memorial way to board a flight. And for me, the lounge experience at the Lufthansa First Class Terminal is what makes Lufthansa First Class worth the money.
