IBIS Frankfurt centrum is so far the only hotel I felt unwelcome to. Usually you know what you get at an IBIS hotel. The rooms are basic but clean and are perfect for a night or two. So I use to be happy to book them. Maybe its because I know that my Accor Gold Status gives me a free drink and sometimes an upgrade. But not this time.
Check in
IBIS Frankfurt Centrum made me feel unwelcome direct at check in. I arrived around 13:30 to Frankfurt and made a quick walk to the hotel. At arrival there was two other pair checking in. Not a problem and I waited for my time. As usually I check in online so I can get the key direct. But this time I still needed to fill in a registration card. Thisa would be okej, if it wasn’t that al the information they wanted already was al ready given in the online check in. So I needed to give the information twice.
The clerk didn’t give me any recognition as a Gold member such a welcome drink or upgrade. Neither was there welcome gift as I recieved at the IBIS in Budapest the day before. He didn’t even say that I was welcome back if I had any questions. As a frequent traveler I most say that this was a complete failure of a check in. I didn’t think it could be worse then IBIS Style in Kaunas, but here they succeeded.
A single room at IBIS Frankfurt Centrum
You get what you pay for and IBIS is a budget hotel. So when I entered the room I was not surprised it was small and basic. But I don’t demand much. A bed, shower and wifi and I’m happy. And that was also exactly what I got. The view from the window faces a back yard and you almost look in to your neighbor. The bathroom is small and Im happy I’m not having a belly. If I was a big boy I’m not sure I would be able to use it.
Breakfast time
My normal breakfast routine is bread yoghurt and a fruit. It’s enough for keeping me up and running until lunch. But when I stay at a hotel I ask for a little more. Maybe some sausage and scrambled egg. Here IBIS Frankfurt Centrum didn’t surprise me. I don’t know if that good or bad. It was just an ordinary hotel breakfast. Maybe it was a little more noisy then Im use’d to because of a group of Chinese travelers. But other then that it was ok. Nog good, not fantastic but okej.
Don’t stay here
IBIS Frankfurt Centrum is not worth the money. Im sure you can find better hotels for the same price. The hotel is not bad, but the male check in clerk was so bad at hios job that he should be fired. Returning customers is the best ambassadors a hotel chain can have. We should become recognized and you should tell all customers that you are there for them. It’s your job to be helpful. The unwelcoming check in made a decent hotel bad. On the other hand, the lady at check out was a pleasure. Helpful and brilliant. She even recognized me when I got back to bring my luggage and was chatty and friendly al the time. Make her a teatcher for all you star and you will become really good. But until that I want go back.
