Flying Brussels Airline on boxing day was a good experience. Both of my flights between Copenhagen and Porto with a transfer in Brussels went smooth. But I did miss the feeling of business class.
Check in and SAS Gold lounge
I have decided to meet up with my husband in Porto where he comes from. So after a comfortable sleep at Copenhagen airport I dropped my luggage. There was a small queue for economy but no one in the premium line. So I was done in a minute and went to the SAS Gold lounge for a coffee. And I have never seen the lounge so empty. When I arrived there was just one other guest and as most we was five persons in the lounge. There was the normal breakfast but I was pleased with coffee. Early breakfast have never been my taste.
Flying Brussels onboard service
Flying Brussels Airlines in Business gives you the right to prioboarding. This was working well in Copenhagen but failed miserable in Brussels. I think this was strange regarding that Brussels is its home airport. Maybe the check in agent didn’t want to take the discussion. But it’s one of those things that matters for me. I hate queues so I want to get what I pay for while I fly Business. A smooth travel experience al the way.
At boarding I was welcomed with a nice welcome on board on both flights and I found my seats (4A and 2F respectively). After the safety demonstration and take off we was quickly served our food. The breakfast while you fly Brussels are basic but okej. There was some bread, yoghurt, orange juice and coffee. The light lunch on my second flight was well a tuna salad that I wouldn’t give a dog. But on a flight your option is limited so I did eat the most of it. Hoping I would not get ill.
What I miss flying Brussels
What I miss when I fly Brussels is mainly two things. The first is the curtain between Business and Coach. For those flying coach it is of course much more nice with an open cabin and for the airline it’s good to have the option to size the business class cabin after the amount of passengers in the different classes. But it takes away a påart of the premium feeling and also create a little more loud atmosphere for those traveling Business.
The second thing I miss Flying Brussels is a little more proactive cabin crew. On the second and longer flight I missed them walking around asking if we would like to get more to drink. In general I would say that the crew on the flight between Copenhagen and Brussel was much more proactive and friendly then one between Brussels and Porto. This just shows the old truth that your flight experience is totally depending on your crew.
