It’s time to avoid St-Tropez. It have a long time been the place to see and be seen. However the question is if that time is over. Yes it can be fun to get a sneak view in to the world of the ultra rich. But there is times when the result of their lifestyle becomes becomes offensive.
When to spoiled restaurant owner sort their customers of how much the spent before or tipped it’s time to avoid St-Tropez. In worst case the restaurant demands that you spend 7 000 € per person. Thats more then many people earn over a year. With such a customer view it’s time to learn them to become more humble by avoiding St-Tropez.
Someone who seems to maybe not agree with me, but at least share my rage is Sylvie Siri, the local mayor who to a local newspaper said “These accusations are extremely shocking to me because they are unfortunately true.” The story of the restaurants disgusting cherry picking is also confirmed by Nice Matin newspaper who spoked with employees at the named restaurants.
And if you don’t want to run for your life, make sure to be a quick runner or avoid St-Tropez. In my world tipping in Europe is a proof of a service beyond expected. And with a high bill, my demands on service is as high as the bill. And if the waiters starts to run after me because I only tipped 500 € then something is really wrong. They have obvious miss understood the difference between salary and tip.
So until the restaurant owners and their staff have learned to treat al customers the same and avoid extreme cherry picking it’s time to avoid St-Tropez. No sneak view in to the world of the rich and powerful is worth the humiliation this people shows to others. So its time to avoid St-Tropez! Specially because there is so many other cheap destinations now.
