In cooperation with the host of the apartment at Dybbølsgade
To rent a Copenhagen apartment is a great option this days. When the hotels becomes more and more expensive you can still find well valued apartments in the city center. In Copenhagen my favorite apartment is located at Vesterbro. Not in the middle of the city but still with walking distance to everything. But if you have an early morning flight an airport hotel could still be worth the price, even if its a little more expensive.
Not only is this Copenhagen apartment fairly priced, it also gives you everything you need after a day of shopping or night out. Its a one bedroom apartment of 45 square meters that it just 14 minutes walk from the Central station. When I stay here I love the quick free wifi and the large assortment of coffee pods in the kitchen.
The big windows gives you a lot of natural light to wake up to in the morning. But I most confess that the bed is so comfy that I have a hard time to get up. It was just so warm and cosy…. Damm I hate to leave a comfy bed. And just look on the bed lamps, ain’t they adorable? Al of this apartment gives you a vibe of Copenhagen and Denmark.
And of top of that, the host Alexander have understood the need for power outlets. Because have not you, just like me checked in to a hotel room just to find out that there is not enough power outlets for you to charge your gears? At this apartment in Copenhagen you won’t have that problem
Finally, the living room! I have stayed at many places and I usually miss my sofa. But at this Copenhagen apartment there is a great sofa to stretch out at. Letting your body rest out and and get some time to recharge. You will also get a dinner table big enough for four so you can invite a friend or two for dinner or a glass before you head out to the city.
Explore Copenhagen
While even if this Copenhagen apartment is a great home away from home, you do want to explore the city. So on my visit I asked Alexander to name three things not to miss as a first time visitor.
Tivoli
Maybe not so surprising number one is Tivoli. The Danish world famous amusement park located just a kilometer away from the apartment. It’s the third oldest amusement park in the world, founded in 1843. And is just a popular now as then. And maybe the reason is the wooden roller coaster from 1914.
Nyhavn
Nyhavn – this iconic master piece of Copenhagen is also on a walkable distance from the apartment. In its earlier history it was an lively commercial port with a lot of alehouses and lady of pleasure. But those times are far gone today. Instead it’s an colorful harbour filled with old ships and restaurants. Those interested in literature can walk by number 20 where Hans Christian Andersen once lived. While the rest of us board one of the tour boats.
The meat packing district
or Kødbyen as its named in Danish is close by the apartment and is the old meat packing district. The district is divided into to parts. The brown and white from 1878 and 1934 respectively. But today it’s just the buildings that reminds us about it’s history. Instead it’s a hip and cool restaurants area where you go to see, be seen and get a lovely dinner.
